MEMORY HOLE: 2023
DEC 2023: HO-HO-HOOEY & OTHER HITS
SINGLE DROP!
The wait is (nearly) over. On January 5, 2024 at 10am, PUDDY will be dropping our first new material in 16 years - and the first song/music video from Demagogo for “What Do You Want”. This drop represents a big milestone for the band. The record continues to be crazy challenging to finish. It’s seen years of personal and external setbacks, delays, false starts, and mid-life / existential crises at nearly every turn… All this while juggling the logistics of growing families, established careers and being spread out by a 1000km triangle.
It feels a bit surreal to reach this point but here we are. Reviving this project was primarily about getting to reconnect, spend time with each other and make records for ourselves - the ones we didn’t have the opportunity to make way back in the ‘good’ol days - during the “too many cooks” era - so mission (mostly) accomplished…. Having said that, it’ll still be a crushing disappointment to see this evaporate into the ether among the 60,000 other songs uploaded to Spotify on the big day.
Please be sure to tune into our social and streaming platforms (and click the link to the right to schedule a reminder for the video premiere on YouTube). Help us spread the word by liking, following, subscribing, whatever…. If we can rack up more than 3 streams, an extensive world-tour will undoubtedly follow… at the current pace, Probably sometime around 2050.
PUDDY SHOWS!!
2 exciting gigs to kick off the new year.
The first will be a wildcard show on Friday Jan 19th at our favorite little punk rock Niagara haunt Camp Cataract booked by the one and only Mike from Railbird. This will be the first time we’ll be testing any Demagogo material on a stage. Could easily go sideways… Don’t miss the action!
Next up, our return home to the Bovine Sex Club in Toronto on Saturday, Jan 20th! Birthday/Resurrection show for us. Our closest friends Ol' Tyme Moonshine and Electric Magma will be joining us. This lineup would be a bargain at regular prices BUT we’re ROLLING ADMISSION PRICES BACK TO OUR LAST GIG IN 2005 and setting admission to $10!! WHUUUUT?! Advance tickets go on sale next week!!
Following these shows we’ll be focused heavily on buttoning up recordings and videos ahead of the album launch in the spring so we probably won’t be playing again until the full record drops. If you’re interested in catching a show and taking advantage of our merch booth discounts, January’s the time to do it!. Check our show page for advance tickets available soon.

NOVEMBER 2023: HIP, HIP HORRENDUSTRY
LIVE DATES!
The dates are cement, posters are printed and rehearsals are underway! Join us in January for the first shows of the Puddy resurrection!
Trainwreck, car crash, dumpster fire... It's anyone's guess. Whatever this turns out to be, we're fired up and planning to blow the roof(s) off with years of fermented pent-up concentrated toxic rage-o-holic pressure. Something is clearly going to pop - hopefully not a knee or shoulder (or heart).
January 19th at Camp Cataract in Niagara Falls (support tbc) and January 20th at our all time favorite, the Bovine Sex Club in Toronto with old friends OL' TIME MOONSHINE and VERY OLD friends (sorry guys) ELECTRIC MAGMA!
Those who've been waiting for a Puddy show won't wanna miss these dates. There's a non-zero percent chance that if we stink either place out, the band will be going right back up on the shelf… maybe forever… JK… not really.

Endustry LP RELAUNCH
Today marks the final step in dragging our back-catalogue into the present. Endustry is a collection of studio demos from '02-'07, featuring cuts from our last Sony sessions and our last studio session at iguana before winding things down.
Due to some legal stickiness, the band trudged through this darker period under the pseudonym "Red Elite". The cd cover reflects this (for those who've ordered a copy and may be confused). The record is pretty solid from top to bottom, albeit really disjointed and quite the drift from the stoner punk roots.
Despite the much more polished and commerical sound (and songs), this record was a complete flop that basically no one heard. Maybe it was the lack of gimmiky fuzz pedals and self-indulgent instrumental wankery… Maybe something to do with 70% of the lyrics crapping on all things Canadian music industry (then hand delivering copies to everyone in the Canadian music industry, asking for favors)… Maybe something to do with the only radio single on the album being called “Burn the Radio"… Hindsight.
Anyway, here's to hoping it gets some love this time around. If you haven't yet, check out the music video for the 'single' "Burn the Radio" on the videos page. If you're feeling super-super generous, order one of the few copies left. This one will definitely not be making the transition to vinyl… and no repressing because fuck CDs.

Demagogo drop!
With the whole back catalogue live, it's finally time to look forward!
The first single and video from Demagogo is in the can and holy cow!! The song will drop in early January. A timely cure for the post-holiday blues.
Start 2024 with a BANG and help flush that simperimg diva Mariah down a couple of octaves, off her diamond encrusted Christmas throne and into the memory hole by making "WHAT DO YOU WANT" the post-holiday hit of 2024!
SIGN UP here and maybe… just maybe (if you've been good all year), you'll get early access to the first new Puddy studio track in 16 years!
OCT 2023: DRIVE EP IS UP
Puddy's “Drive EP” from 2002 is now available on streaming platforms. Swing on over to your favorite disservice and give it a stream. This one was never “officially” released - but pressed and sold at shows while we were doing time at Sony Music Canada and went completely under the radar.
The ep is a 5-song mishmash of demos in various states of completion. The work was recorded at Metalworks, at our 1st session at Sony Oasis in 2001, and at the now (unfortunately) defunct Soundcore where a ton of mixing, vocal tracking and mastering was done by our live engineer and all around super-dude Tod Cutler.
There are less than 50 Drive CDs left in our inventory so if you want one, grab it now... or be at the mercy of the grifters on discogs and their "I know what I got" premiums.
The digital version of this 5-song pile is largely as it was on the original release... Against our instincts, we refrained from being revisionists and omitting the 'stinkers'. The new version does feature one minor update - a new edit of the "single", "it's funny cause it's happening to you" with the ridiculously inappropriate "Sony ending" lobbed off (those who know, know). Check it now on our music page, on streaming, and Bandcamp.

SWEETSPOT VINYL DROP:
On Sep 15th (a month ahead of schedule), the shipment of Sweetspot vinyl arrived at BPHQ! It was a great day. The product looks spectacular with the jacket and 180g Ruby red vinyl looking better than we'd hoped.
Thanks to Jay Taylor who made the trip (and who likely picked up covid on the GO train back to TO). He was a huge help in organizing and getting all the pre orders out super fast. We had a great weekend stuffing and numbering jackets.
Huge sense of closure now that the product is in-hand. The intention was always to press this lp onto vinyl but limited resources and shifting priorities pushed what should have been, to the back seat.
Thanks to everyone who pre-ordered and to those who grabbed early copies. There's still a few copies in the online store. When they're gone, they're gone! Grab yours here!

SEPTEMBER 2023: Found The Keys
Welcome to PUDDY.TV - Your newest tube powered portal into the better world of yesterday. After a few false starts since 2018, it appears we're up and running.
Be sure to join our mailing list for freebies, bonus content and updates while we rumble back to life as the 2020s newest out-of-touch, socially cringeworthy (uninvited) guests.
Time to blow off the cobwebs, crash this dumpster fire and gamble with being unceremoniously cancelled (further) into obscurity (again). There's tons going on behind the scenes so stay tuned.
Now Streaming
Our ravenous appetite for disposable content, addiction to convenience and distain for all things tangible has easily delivered IP rights of everything, everywhere to a handful of douchebag tech bros - and fully legitimized the “hit maker / uber driver” job description. Congratulations to everyone. Big wins.
Much of our catalogue is being reluctantly dragged into the damaged world of the 2020s. We're rolling things out on a schedule. Available NOW is the 2023 Remaster of Sweetspot.
On October 2nd, DRIVE EP will drop, and on November 3rd, ENDUSTRY. These albums (and respective tracks) will be available on all major streaming platforms. Consume and dispose at will!

You'll Own Merch... And You'll Be Happy
Visit our online store NOW and pick up a piece of reasonably priced Puddy swag. Unlike the old days, the process is 100% automated and totally impersonal... Gone are the days of dropping cash in the mail and waiting for a lazy so-and-so to never complete the transaction.
One thing to note - due to limitations of our fulfillment, physical music (CDs & vinyl) will be shipped from a different location than our clothing so orders with both clothing and music will be split into 2 shipments. We've slashed the pricing on our clothing to compensate. Hope you like the new offerings! CLICK HERE
BTR Video Re-Re-Released
After nearly a decade in the vault, our only ‘official’ music video makes a triumphant return to YouTube.
Thanks in part to the monstrosity that is AI, we were able to enhance the old master and bring it kicking and screaming up to 2010 standards with glorious 1080p.
Originally released in 2007 under the “Red Elite” name, the rollout of this DIY lo-fi masterpiece is a sordid tale soaked in irony, with tons of dramatic twists and turns… Complete with whiffs of corporate corruption, shameless intellectual property theft, and an encounter with a fresh-faced Drake (whose entourage stole our beer).
With the current geopolitical and cultural climate, we figured we should post some sort of statement about the aesthetics (ham-fisted, nods to cold war era Soviet posters)… it's just (questionable) art direction… from a better time when dumb visuals could be rocked carefree (how far we've come). The video and concept hold zero obvious or implied political statements, and no cultural agenda.
Let the festival of shit slinging begin… or don't. Probably moot - if the same number of people see it this time around, it'll rack up a grand total of about 8 views on the YT. Enjoy.
SHOWS!
On January 20, 2024 - Exactly 8 years to the day from our one-off reunion show in 2016, we'll be making our return to the Bovine Sex Club!
Warm up show on Friday Jan 19, 2024 at the awesome Camp Cataract in Niagara Falls ON!
Details on the SHOW PAGE as this develops.
Sweetspot - Remastered
Sweetspot Vinyl
With CD burners so far in the rearview mirror, we were left with few options. It was this or cassettes. Nearly a quarter century late, Sweetspot will finally find its way onto luscious 180g red wax as originally intended, in a limited pressing of 300 numbered copies.
Doesn't hold nearly the same water as it would have in 1999 - what with everyone and their left hand in the que at the pressing plants these days… but one tidbit of trivia you can lay on your pals is this particular irrelevant 00s throwback is (now) totally analog. 2" tape to vinyl. An artifact from a twilight zone episode about a world where indie recording studios are a thing and "laptop producers” are not.

Demagogo SINGLES
YEARS of personal setbacks and global calamities couldn't keep us away. Rockroaches are we. Our come-back album "Demagogo" is finally nearing completion. Album is currently in mixing with the incomparable Vic Florencia and our first video is in production!
We'll be releasing the 1st single (codenamed "Money") on January 19th, with the full-record being released in the spring of 2024.
